Leslie Dempsey said her cat, Dixie, was on a quest when Dempsey took her photo in their Crystal city home.
“She’s quite the finder of anything she can get into,” Dempsey said. “In this particular picture, she’s chasing a bug. It went behind the coat rack.”
Dixie, 2, is a Calico cat.
“She’s just full of life, and she talks to us just by meowing and crying,” Dempsey said. “She can open round doorknobs. She can get into anywhere she wants to. She’s extremely smart.”
Dixie and the family’s dog, a 1-year-old Yorkipoo named Chip, race around the house.
They fight like siblings,” Dempsey said. “They’re both fast, but (Dixie’s) not used to being chased around.”
Dixie is a valued member of the household, Dempsey said.
“We just love her a lot,” she said.
