3:15 p.m. UPDATE: A 61-year-old Park Hills man died Thursday afternoon, April 9, after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle on Hwy. V south of De Soto, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The Highway Patrol no longer identifies those who are involved in vehicle crashes. The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office identified the driver who died as Larry Thomas Huber.
The Highway Patrol reports at 3:09 p.m. a 54-year-old Imperial woman was driving a southbound 2023 Ford Bronco Sport when she turned left from Hwy. V onto Mount Olive and into the path of a northbound 2008 Honda VTX1300 motorcycle driven by Huber.
Huber attempted to brake, causing the motorcycle to skid and then strike the right side of the Bronco, the report said. Huber was pronounced dead at 3:28 p.m. on the scene by Valle Ambulance District personnel and was taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office by Edwards Mortuary Service.
The Honda had extensive damage while the Bronco had moderate damage. Huber was wearing a helmet, and the driver of the Bronco was wearing a seat belt, the report said.
The Immaculate Conception Church in Park Hills posted on Facebook that its parish priest, Pastor Huber, died in a motorcycle crash on April 9. A prayer and remembrance service is planned at the church on Saturday evening, April 11.
