Brooks, George

George Raymon “Ray” Brooks, 86, of Imperial died Dec. 6, 2025. Mr. Brooks was a veteran drill sergeant of the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1962, where he marched a battalion while stationed in Germany. He retired from the Oil Workers and Atomic Union (OCAW) as an industrial electrician after 33 years. He was a member of the Rock Township Lions Club in Imperial, where he served in various roles throughout the years. Born July 1, 1939, he was the son of the late George and Eddie Mae Brooks.

He is survived by his wife of almost 64 years: Kathleen E. (Hobbs) Brooks; five children: Rose Regelsperger, Tina Herrell, Ray (MaryAnn) Brooks, Kim (Mike) Coleman and Daniel (Fiancee Barbara Kennedy) Brooks; 15 grandchildren: Timothy, Derek, Brandy (Dustin), Nathan, Elizabeth (Jason), Victoria, Samantha (Carlin), Jennifer (Dave), Rachael, Tiffany (Christopher), Gabe (Tiffany), Jon, Clayton, Michael and Eli; 11 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by five siblings: Grace, Jim, Bill, Dave and Wayne; and a grandson: Michael Ray Brooks.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. today, Dec. 11, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. A funeral service is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
