Allen Michael Dittmaier, 35, of Imperial was recently arrested after failing to appear in court on charges of felony stealing. He had been out on a $4,000 bond after being accused of paying less for some items and not paying for others while using a self-checkout lane at Lowe’s, 920 Arnold Commons Drive, in Arnold, according to court documents.
He was arrested Dec. 3, and as of Dec. 4, he was being held on a $5,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro. He had failed to make a court appearance Nov. 24, court records said.
Dittmaier has been charged with stealing $750 or more, a class felony punishable by up to seven years in prison. A bond forfeiture hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 5, court documents show.
On Feb. 21, Dittmaier allegedly used a ticket for less expensive flooring to purchase more expensive flooring while using a self-checkout lane. He also allegedly did not pay for other items while checking out, and he drank a beverage that he got out of a store cooler without paying for it, according to the case’s probable-cause statement.
Lowe’s lost $1,761.24 due to Dittmaier allegedly paying less for some items and not paying for others, the report said.
