Virginia Adalea Penberthy, 86, of Imperial died Dec. 17, 2018, at her home. Mrs. Penberthy was a homemaker and a member of Jefferson Heights Baptist Church. She was aborn June 9, 1932, in Wortham, the daughter of the late Grace (Payne) and Arthur J. Greene.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years: Donald Lee Penberthy; four children: Dennis (Kim) Penberthy of Imperial, Steven (Melinda) Penberthy of Pevely, Barry (Debbie) Penberthy of Barnhart and Andrea (David) Erger of Imperial; nine grandchildren: Tony Penberthy of Imperial, Cassie Konopka of Pacific, Corey Penberthy of Hillsboro, Laura Faulstich of St. Louis, Eric Penberthy of Festus, Brandon Penberthy of Pevely, Caylen Erger of Imperial, Sara Penberthy of Pevely and Dalton Erger of Imperial; and 10 great-grandchildren: Alexia and Makenna Penberthy of Festus, Cheyenne and Aleksandr Konopka of Pacific, Hunter and Wyatt Penberthy of Pevely, Quinn and Grace Faulstich of St. Louis and Colton and Kaleb Penberthy of Pevely.
She was preceded in death by two siblings: James B Greene of Frankclay and Peggy Vinyard of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; a daughter-in-law: Linda (Jennemann) Penberthy; and a great-granddaughter: Anna Penberthy.
A funeral service was held Dec. 21 at Kutis Funeral Home in south St. Louis County, officiated by Jeremy Minster. Burial was in the Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Memorials may be made to Jefferson Heights Baptist Church, 5106 Old Missouri 21, Imperial, 63052. Arrangements were under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
