Viola “Aline” Spence, 78, of Festus died April 11, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Spence was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church in Bloomsdale and was a secretary for CES Trucking and Grace Presbyterian Church in Crystal City. Born Feb. 23, 1939, in Patton, she was the daughter of the late Lena Irene (Smith) and Jesse James Myers.
She is survived by her husband: Tom D. Spence Jr.; her first cousins: Clyde and Hilda Spurgin of Greenbrier, Ark. and Richard and Loann Cook of Maryville, Tenn.; one brother- and sister-in-law: Jean and Hollis Kratz; a nephew: Ethan (Jennifer) Kratz; one great-niece: Katelynn Elizabeth Kratz; and one great-nephew: Cameron Kratz.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main, in Festus. Visitation is at 10 a.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, April 20, at Lebanon Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 20 at Lebanon Baptist Church, 3007 Hwy. 61, in Bloomsdale, officiated by Pastor Francis Roberts. Burial is in the Lebanon Baptist Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or to the Lebanon Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
