Verna Lee Blair, 77, of De Soto died Oct. 6, 2015, at her home.
Mrs. Blair was a supervisor at Brown Shoe Co. and also worked at Kellwood Garment. She was a member of First Baptist Church of De Soto. Born Jan. 1, 1938, in Richwoods, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Kathleen (Casey) Bliss.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years: Theodore L. “Ted” Blair of De Soto; a daughter: Vicky (Mike) Christopher of De Soto; a son: Jamie (the late Pam) Blair of Dale, Ind.; two sisters: Maxine Wideman and Lois Cordia Pannebecker, both of De Soto; six grandchildren: Travis (Angela) Blair, Jason (Angie) Blair, Courtney Blair, Devon (Brent) Mendel, Cody (Dawn Richey) Christopher and Drew (Julianne) Christopher; and seven great-grandchildren: Reznor Blair, Keno Blair, Carson Blair, Olivia Blair, Lindsey Mendel, Abigail Mendel and Robyn Mendel.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Renee Blair, and by three brothers: Tosca Bliss, Wayne Bliss and Clifton Bliss Sr.
A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Oct. 8 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. Jeremy Muniz. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 200 Grace Way, De Soto, 63020. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, De Soto.
