The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has filed multiple felony charges against a man who allegedly sexually abused at least three girls over a five-year period in Jefferson County. The victims were younger than 15 at the time of the abuse, court documents said.
Kerry Lee Hartwick, 59, of Park Hills on March 11 was charged with five counts of first-degree child molestation, two counts of felony first-degree statutory sodomy and two counts of felony enticement of a child. Hartwick had a listed address in High Ridge during the time period the alleged abuse occurred, court records show.
He was arrested on March 11, and as of March 12, he was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, according to court and jail records.
According to the probable-cause statement filed by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Hartwick allegedly had inappropriate sexual contact with three girls from 2003 through 2008.
He allegedly abused two of the girls while helping them practice cheerleading maneuvers. One of the girls told investigators that Hartwick attempted to bribe her with princess underwear, so she would allow him to touch her, the report said.
All three girls told investigators Hartwick would lift them onto his shoulders to abuse them. One girl also said he would have her sit on his lap while driving and inappropriately touch her, according to the report.
