
Velma Brown, 88, High Ridge
Velma Brown, 88, of High Ridge died June 12, 2021, at her home. Ms. Brown. She was an online member of Jimmy Swaggart Ministries and watched their daily programming. In her younger years, she loved attending church services, teaching Sunday school and playing the organ. She also enjoyed St. Louis Cardinals’ baseball. She loved flowers and working in her garden. She also loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. Born Dec. 27, 1932, in Prim, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Naomi (Turney) Dollar.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Brown.
She is survived by a son: Rick (Carolyn) Brown; four grandchildren: Robyn and John Starks, and Cami and Cory Brown; eight great-grandchildren: Taylor, Isaac and Kayla Starks, and Ethan, Kayli, Caleb, Olivia and Brendan Brown; and many other family and friends.
She also was preceded in death by 11 siblings.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the funeral services at 7 p.m. Tuesday (June 29) at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, P.O. Box 262550, Baton Rouge, La., 70826. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
