The Rev. Steven J. Benke, 50, of St. Louis County, formerly of Imperial, died Sept. 11, 2014, in St. Louis County. The Rev. Benke was the pastor at Jefferson Hills Church in Jefferson County, Faith Lutheran Church in Oakville and Faith Lutheran Church in Columbia, Ill.
He is survived by his parents: Richard and Carlee Benke; his fiancée: Kathleen Worthmore; three children: Kate Benke, Rick Benke and Emily Worthmore; two siblings: Dawn (Joel) Conrad and Mark (Nicole) Benke; his grandmother: Viola Mutschink; and two nephews: Joshua Conrad and Andrew Benke.
Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Faith Lutheran Church in Oakville. Memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home.
