
Ronald Eugene ‘Ronnie’ Drennen Jr, 41, Hillsboro
Ronald Eugene “Ronnie” Drennen Jr., 41, of Hillsboro died June 17, 2022, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mr. Drennen, also known as “Cooter,” was a diesel mechanic with Fabick Cat in Fenton. He graduated from Grandview High School and earned an HVAC certificate from Vatterott College. He served in the Marine Corps from 2002-2006, earning numerous medals, ribbons and other awards of recognition over the course of two tours in Iraq. He was president of Union Alliance Motorcycle Association, a volunteer with Focus Marines, a member of the Big River VFW Post in Cedar Hill and an organ donor. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, as well as riding motorcycles and fixing engines, especially on motorcycles. He will be remembered for his big heart and willingness to help others. Born Feb. 21, 1981, in St. Louis, he was the son of Barbara Kay (Newton) and Ronald Eugene Drennen Sr. of Dittmer.
He is survived by his wife of more than 19 years: Julia (Yount) Drennen of Hillsboro; three children: Faith Marie Drennen of Redford, Aaron Michael Drennen of House Springs and Kody Sebastian Drennen of Hillsboro; one grandchild: Kayleigh Aspenwall; six siblings: Barb “Bobbi” (Chris) Drennen-Walgren of House Springs, Rhonda (David) Drennen-Hobbs of House Springs, Nita Eggers of Robertsville, Rodney (Kristie) Galey of High Ridge, Aaron (Nancy) Galey of Edmond, Okla., and Marine brother Matt Cooper of Hillsboro; eight nieces and nephews: Samantha (Kyle) Eggers-Pizzo, Kalie (Brandon) Hobbs-Threadgill, Ryann and Drennen C. Walgren, and Kaylin, Kylie, Courtney and Bailey Galey; and a great-niece and great-nephew: Kinley and Easton Threadgill.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 30, at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. A funeral will be at noon Friday, July 1, at the funeral home, followed by a procession to the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks, 2900 Sheridan Road, in St. Louis County.
