Ronald Dale “Ronnie” Rundel, 71, Festus

Ronald Dale “Ronnie” Rundel, 71, of Festus died May 31, 2021, at his home. Mr. Rundel served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam and was a member of Amvets Post 42 and VFW Post 1831. He worked for many years as general manager in car sales for Reuther Ford. He enjoyed horseback riding, fishing and, most of all, spending time with his family. Born March 3, 1950, in Cadet, he was the son of the late Loren Burrell and Margaret Lucial (Portell) Rundel.

He is survived by his wife: Brenda Sue (Goggin) Rundel; two sons: Ronald C. (Angela) Rundel of Festus and Darryl L. (Beverly) Rundel of Hillsboro; two stepchildren: Amy J. Evans of Hillsboro and Jeffrey S. Evans of Desloge; two brothers: Gary Rundel of De Soto and Danny (Cindy) Rundel of Louisburg, Kan.; two sisters: Norma Beck of Marthasville and Rene “Sissy” Duncan of De Soto; two sisters-in-law: Francis Rundel of Potosi and Elaine Rundel of Festus; a brother-in-law: Charles Williams of Sikeston; seven grandchildren: Savannah, Karli, Ellie, Reagan, Austin, Kayden and Tristian; and a great-grandchild: Greyson.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert “Taylor” Rundel and James Rundel; a sister” Betty (Peachie) Williams; and a brother-in-law: Robert Beck.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday (June 10) at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus. Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Friday (June 11) at the funeral home. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks, with full military honors. Memorials may be made to Amvets Post 42.
