Robert Lee Pentz Jr., 76, of Hillsboro died Jan. 10, 2021, in Festus. Mr. Pentz retired after 32 years as a brewer for Anheuser-Busch. He enjoyed family gatherings, barbecues, fishing, hunting, and hunting, especially during deer season. Born Aug. 14, 1944, in St. Louis, he was the son of Virginia (Springmeyer) Pentz of Imperial and the late Robert Pentz Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Karin (McCreary) Pentz of Hillsboro, whom he married on April 16, 1965; a son: Dennis (Tammy) Pentz of Hillsboro; two daughters: Shelly Steger of Perryville and Lisa (Chad) Barnhart of Cedar Hill; two grandsons: Justin Lundgren of O’Fallon and Tyler Andrews of St. Louis; two granddaughters: Tiffany Schwer of St. Louis and Kalie Hoffman of De Soto; a great-granddaughter: Hadley Rains of De Soto; a brother: Tom Pentz of Imperial; and a sister: Phyllis Vaughn of Imperial.
He also was preceded in death by two sisters: Judy Smith and Candy Hubert.
A memorial gathering will be held later. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
