Rita I. Ida, 68, of De Soto died Sept. 13, 2021, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Mrs. Ida was a homemaker. Born June 6, 1953, in Eau Claire, Wis., she was the daughter of the late Duane and Irene (Nelson) Ottum.
She is survived by her husband: Michael Ida of De Soto; three children: Dennis (Shannon) Ida of Hillsboro; Justin Ida of Farmington and Josh (Krista) Ida of St. Charles; two sisters: Regina Ottum of Chippewa Falls, Wis., and Roxanne (Jim) Kahan of Kennan, Wis.; two brothers: Ralph (Peggy) Ottum of Unity, Wis., and Richard “Rick” Ottum of Abbotsford, Wis; and two grandchildren: Ashley and Kyle.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Randy Ottum; and a grandchild: Charleigh.
A funeral service was held Sept. 19 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto, officiated by David Houser. Burial was in the Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
