Susan J. “Sue” Hammon, 69, of De Soto died July 10, 2024, at Hillcrest Care Center in De Soto. Mrs. Hammon was a homemaker. Born Dec. 24, 1954, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Cherlene (Hoff) and Ronald Aiken.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Ernest “Ernie” Hammon.
She is survived by three children: Terisa (George) Henry of De Soto, Bill Harris of De Soto and Daryl Spruell of De Soto; a sibling: Colleen (Brad) Bischoff of Bonne Terre; three grandchildren: Timothy Hickman, Austin Hickman and Jasmin Spruell; three great-grandchildren: Stevie, Vinnie and Asher; several nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by three siblings: Mike Aiken, Kathleen Aiken and Mary Christine Aiken.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 13, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. A graveside service will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, 1402 S. 5th St., in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
