Galczynski, Stanley

Stanley Clifford Galczynski, 67, of Festus died Jan. 12, 2026, at his home. Mr. Galczynski worked as a warehouse supervisor for much of his life before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, going fishing, hunting, listening to John Denver or watching birds swarm around his feeders. He loved watching the same episodes of his favorite Western TV shows and picking out inconsistencies in movies and shows. His biggest pet peeve was seeing tire tracks in the background dirt in Westerns. He also loved to share stories and was known to remind those around him how loved they were. Born March 31, 1958, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Estella (Bland) and Francis Galczynski.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Sandra Jean (West) Galczynski.

He is survived by two children: Katie (Jesse) Wockenfuss of Festus and Ethan (Lucas) Galczynski of Prairie Village, Kan.; four grandchildren: Mariah Weekley, Weston Wockenfuss, Stella Wockenfuss and Maisie Wockenfuss; and three brothers: Dennis (Barb) Galczynski of Barnhart, Leo (Brenda) Galczynski of Cedar Hill and Raymond Galczynski of St. Louis.

He also was preceded in death by three brothers: Bob (Doris survives of Cedar Hill) Galczynski, Ron Galczynski and Frank Galczynski.

A memorial gathering is scheduled from noon until services at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Terry Crank. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
