Sandra Jean Galczynski, 67, of Festus died Sept. 30, 2024. Mrs. Galczynski was a retired seamstress and was a member of Good News Community Church in Festus. She will be remembered for spreading love and laughter to many and for being devoted to her family and friends. Born March 5, 1957, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Jessie (Davis) and Stanley West.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years: Stanley Galczynski; a daughter: Katie (Jesse) Wockenfuss of Festus; a son: Ethan (Lucas) Galczynski of Prairie Village, Kan.; nine siblings: Melba Love of De Soto, Steve (Jeannie) West of O’Fallon, Sheila Utnage of Cuba, David (Patty) West of Wright City, Bobby (Linda) West of Florissant, Jeff (Linda) West of Pacific, Kathy Van Hoorne of Pevely, Kevin (Destie) West of Paragould, Ark., and Lisa (Tom) Galczynski of Paragould, Ark.; and four grandchildren: Mariah Weekley, Weston Wockenfuss, Stella Wockenfuss and Maisie Wockenfuss.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Rick (the late Pat) West, Don West and Jim (Debbie survives of Cabot, Ark.) West.
A memorial gathering is from 3 p.m. until a memorial service at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Justin Metiva. Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
