Richard Lee McFarland, 73, of Wildwood died April 10, 2026, at his home. Mr. McFarland was a retired IT project manager. He will be remembered for his devotion to family, sense of humor and spark for life. Born Oct. 7, 1952, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late B. Bernice (Mund) and Homer Lee McFarland.
He is survived by four children: Benjamin (Kendra) McFarland of Festus, Jessica McFarland of Union, Ashley McFarland of Wildwood and Alexander McFarland of Wildwood; a brother: David (the late Pamela) McFarland of Festus; and three grandchildren: Jaxon McFarland, Noah McFarland and Maverick Weir.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Sandra Kay McFarland; and a granddaughter: Jolie Belle McFarland.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at noon Wednesday, April 15, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Justin Metiva. Memorials may be made to the Jolie Belle McFarland Foundation or Goode Life Pet Rescue in Herculaneum. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
