Thomas, Nathan

Nathan Allen Thomas, 32, of Imperial died May 21, 2026, in St. Louis. Mr. Thomas was a U.S. Army veteran who served with the 220th Engineers and was deployed with the 294th Engineer Support Company to Djibouti, Africa, in 2023. He loved serving his country and giving back to his community. He was a heavy equipment operator for Millstone Weber in St. Charles and a member of Local 513 Operating Engineers and the Knights of Columbus Council 1230 in Festus. He loved sports and brought passion, energy and humor into what he did. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his wife and kids. He was known as a free spirit with a kind heart, as he enjoyed making others feel welcomed, valued and loved. He will be remembered for his laughter, love for family and the many memories he shared. Born March 3, 1994, in Crystal City, he was the son of Christina (Thomure) and Gary Thomas of Herculaneum.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife: Brittany Nicole (Duerr) Thomas; a son: Hunter Thomas; a daughter: Audrey Raley; a sister: Leah (Matt) Smith of Festus; two brothers: Evan (Cailey) Pingel of Grain Valley and Noah (fiancee Abbegail Himmelmann) Thomas of Herculaneum; his mother-in-law: Michelle Nash of Festus; his father-in-law: John Duerr of De Soto; a grandparent: Bobby Thomure of Farmington; his aunts and uncles: Tonya and Terry Thomas of Herculaneum and Karen and Bill Vincent of Bonne Terre; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Thelma Thomure and Eugene and Anna Thomas.

Visitation is scheduled from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, May 31, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral services are scheduled for noon Monday, June 1, at the funeral home officiated by Father Steve Lian of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment with full military honors will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
