Michael L. Pate, 76, of Bloomsdale died May 29, 2024. Mr. Pate served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969 aboard the USS Boxer Aircraft Carrier. Once home, he worked as a machinist for Kemco Tools as well as in general maintenance for MetalTek. He was a member of Life Christian Church in De Soto. He enjoyed woodworking, watching nature, camping, practicing his faith and spending time with his family and friends. Born Jan. 31, 1948, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Gertrude and Robert Pate.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Jane Pate of Bloomsdale; a son: Michael (Kathy) Pate of Bloomsdale; a daughter: Malinda Pate of Bloomsdale; a brother: Robert Pate of Antonia; five grandchildren: Monica, Alex, Emily, Evan and Aaron; two great-grandchildren: Hayden and Isabella; a best friend: Tony Dimercurio; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by four brothers: Tommy, Danny, Bill and Jimmy Pate; and four sisters: Mary Adams, Loretta Valentine, Carol Klein and Teresa Pate.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until funeral services at noon on Wednesday, June 5, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Ryan Sutton. Burial will be in Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
