
Michael Joseph “Mike” Gibson, 71, of Arnold died May 1, 2024. Mr. Gibson served in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He worked for two decades in the railroad industry before venturing into entrepreneurship in the field of electrical contracting. He owned his own successful business for nearly 30 years. Born March 12, 1953, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Patrick and Wilma (Cousin) Gibson.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Lana (Welch) Gibson.
He is survived by a child: Jennifer (Thomas) Eckstein; five grandchildren: Matthew Dierker, Jason (Chelsea) Dierker, Matthew Kirkpatrick, Hanna Kirkpatrick and Hayden Eckstein; a great-grandchild: Oliver Dierker; six siblings: Debbie Denby, Sandra “Sandy” Mollar, Ronnie Gibson, Randy Gibson, Tanya Redwing and Flint Gibson; and many other family members and friends.
He also was preceded in death by two children: Tammy Dierker and Adam Gibson; and two siblings: Patrick Gibson and Shawn Gibson.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 11, at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons South County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis. A graveside service with military honors will follow in Shepherd Hills Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of John L. Ziegenhein and Sons South County Chapel.
