Michael C. Phares, 74, of De Soto died April 24, 2026, at his home. Mr. Phares was a registered nurse, having worked at Washington County and Jefferson Memorial Hospital and Country Meadows and Fountainbleau Nursing Homes. Born May 22, 1951, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Veneta “June” (Lewis) and Charles Asa “Ace” Phares.
He is survived by his wife: Marcia (Luster) Phares of De Soto; three children: Karen (Tod) Allison of Robertsville, Rachel (Daryl) Roth of De Soto and Josh (Natalie) Phares of De Soto; and six grandchildren: Nadia Roth, Nolan Phares, Lincoln Phares, JoElla Phares, Brody Phares and Mia Phares.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by the Rev. R. Brad Delaughter. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
