Mary Sue Turner, 87, of Richmond, formerly of Festus died Jan. 22, 2024, in her sleep. Mrs. Turner enjoyed at a young age climbing trees and playing at the Plattin Road family farm. She was known to be mischievous, such as purchasing a mail-order monkey with her siblings. She met her husband when a door-to-door salesman knocked on her door with a new Singer sewing machine. They married in 1960 and raised two children. She was a long-time employee of Pittsburg Glass in Crystal City, IGA Grocery in Richmond, American Vacuum in Overland Park, Kan., and the co-owner of a few small businesses until she retired last year. She enjoyed displaying her spirited personality and spending time with her family. Born March 26, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Arch and Louis McKee.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Donald Franklin Turner.
She is survived by two children: Elizabeth (Kevin) Hendrix of Richmond and Steve (Kathy) Turner of Richmond; four grandchildren: Megan (Cory) Crook of Kansas City, Matthew (Erin) Hendrix of Chillicothe, Ethan Turner of Springfield and Morgan Hendrix of Kansas City; four great-grandchildren: Ivy Crook, Cas Crook, Alena Hendrix and Abel Hendrix; and two siblings: Doris Huskey and Lynn Brust.
She also was preceded in death by three siblings: Bob McKee, Bill McKee and Betty Smith.
