Mary Skiadas, 98, formerly of Crystal City, died April 9, 2026, at Sunrise of Des Peres Senior Living in Des Peres. Ms. Skiadas was a retired customer service agent, having worked for Union Electric Corp. for 30 years, and was a longtime member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Crystal City. She was referred to as “Dobe” by those who knew her and loved to travel with her family. She was an avid gardener and had a great sense of fashion, as you could often find her shopping with her nieces on Saturdays. Born Jan. 9, 1928, in Crystal City, she was the daughter of the late Francesca (Bauer) and John V. Skiadas.
She is survived by three nieces: Debbie (Bill) McKenna, Linda (Ron) Williams and Julie (Darvin) Lipp; great-nieces and great-nephews: Jennifer (Ryan) Wieser, Janine (Chris) Hueter, Joe Bell, Michele (Lance) Kemper and Mark (Stephanie) Earls; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews: Jessica (Matthew), Connor, Sophie, Will, Jonas, Ana, Brody, Emma, Heidi, Ashley, Jon, Katie, Colton and Lawson (Emily).
She was preceded in death by a sister: Frances (the late William) Miller; and three brothers: John J. (the late Betty) Skiadas, George J. Skiadas and Nick J. Skiadas.
Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
