DeClue, Joseph

Joseph B. DeClue, 81, of De Soto died Aug. 30, 2024, at the de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis. Mr. DeClue was a carpenter and a retired over-the-road truck driver. Born Sept. 7, 1942, in Bliss, Miss., he was the son of Rachel (Vilmer) and Joseph D. DeClue.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Diann (Ray) DeClue.

He is survived by five children: Lisa (John) Smith of Linn, Scott DeClue of Pevely, Candace DeClue of Fenton, Crystal (Dale) Martin of Imperial and Dylan DeClue of St. Louis; a sister: Patsy (Norman) Westhoff; eight grandchildren: Samantha, Jessica (Daniel), Natalie (Hutch), Fallon, Savannah, Noah, Allison and Ivy (Dustin); and two great-grandchildren: Kacy and Aliyah.

He also was preceded in death by two sisters: Helen Wickerham and Mary Theresa DeClue.

A memorial gathering is scheduled from 4 p.m. until a memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
