Clauser, John

John Nye Clauser Jr., 83, of Festus died Jan. 25, 2024. Mr. Clauser was a retired payroll clerk for Chrysler Corp. and coached youth baseball for more than 20 years. During his retirement, he enjoyed building and flying radio-controlled planes. He served as president of his local Jaycee club in California and as president of the Local Retired Workers Union in Fenton. He also was a member of the Mississippi River Eagles in Crystal City. Born Sept. 11, 1940, in Los Angeles, Calif., he was the only son of Bertha Juanita (Garrett) and John Nye Clause Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Ellen Nadine Clauser of Festus; a daughter: Lisa (Monty) Kennedy of Festus; three grandchildren: David Kennedy Jr., Colleen Kennedy-Agee and Amanda (Kennedy) Wolff; and two great-grandchildren: Logan Wolff and Alice Rose Kennedy.

A celebration of life ceremony is scheduled for a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
