Staggenborg, John

John J. Staggenborg, 83, of Imperial died Jan. 2, 2026. Mr. Staggenborg was a tool and die maker. He began his career at Carter Carburetor, where he worked for 16 years. He retired from Anheuser-Busch, where he worked for 19 years. He served as a member of the U.S. Army National Guard. He was an outdoorsman, a hunter and a cattleman. He enjoyed being at his farm in Gasconade County, where he raised cattle. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Imperial. Born July 31, 1942, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Joseph and Emma (Nolte) Staggenborg.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Judy (Meyer) Staggenborg; two children: Timothy (Kim) Staggenborg of Manchester and Jennifer (fiance Will Chapin) Staggenborg of High Ridge; two grandchildren: Mira and Grant Staggenborg; and a sister: Kathryn (the late Bud) Murray of Arnold; and many other family members and friends.  

He was preceded in death by a brother: William (Verna) Staggenborg; and a grandson: Andrew Staggenborg.

A funeral Mass was held Jan. 10 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Imperial. Interment was in Shepherd Hills Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home in Arnold.
