John Edward Boughan Jr., 57, of Hillsboro died April 23, 2026. Mr. Boughan will be remembered for his strength, determination and resilience. He loved spending time with his family and friends, making many memories. Born April 3, 1969, he was the son of Joanne Keane and John Boughan Sr. He was the stepson of George Keane.
In addition to his parents and stepfather, he is survived by his wife of 31 years: Rita Lynn Boughan; a son: Alex (Brittany) Boughan; a daughter: Emily (Trenton) Gresham; two sisters: Elaine (Dan) Conroy and Marnie (Jeff) Hartwig; two grandsons: Kolby and Quentin Boughan; his father-in-law: Russell Cates; his sister-in-law: Sara Cates; a niece: Katlyn Dankel; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Everett and Harriet Boughan and Sara and Joseph Bommarito; two nephews: Matthew Lovetto and Garrick Evans; his mother-in-law: Marita Cates; and his brother-in-law: Shawn Cates.
A celebration of life is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at the Arnold VFW, 2301 Church Road. Memorials may be made to Mid-America Transplant Foundation, 1110 Highlands Plaza Drive East, Suite 100, St. Louis, 63110.
