Arnold man charged with alleged drug possession

Randal Scott Gilkey, 42, of Arnold has been accused of possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop in Arnold. He was stopped while driving an SUV that had an expired license plate, court documents show.

Gilkey on April 20 was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as a misdemeanor charge of driving a vehicle with an expired license plate, court records said.

He was arrested on April 25, and as of Monday, April 27, he was being held on a $5,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, according to court and jail records.

According to a probable-cause statement filed by Arnold Police, Gilkey was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer on Oct. 9, 2025, in the area of Starling Airport Road and Potomac Drive when he was stopped by an officer.

Following the stop, the officer allegedly found a bag that contained what appeared to be an illegal substance stuffed in a cigarette pouch that was in the SUV. The officer also allegedly found a glass smoking device with burnt reside in one of Gilkey’s pockets, the report said.
