James L. Berk, 77, of Hillsboro died Feb. 12, 2025, in Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mr. Berk was a biomedical engineer for BJC Healthcare for 16 years. He enjoyed working on cars and boats, fishing, sailing and rescuing exotic birds. He was also a devoted fan of Jimmy Buffett and was considered a “Parrothead.” Born April 25, 1947, in Sellersville, Pa., he was the son of the late Walter and Clara S. (Schaffer) Berk.
He is survived by a daughter: Chrystal (Michael) Taylor of Imperial; two grandsons: Ian and Nolan; a significant other: Mary Staab; and numerous friends.
