James “Kevin” Golden, 62, of De Soto died Jan. 5, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Golden was Christian. He enjoyed cooking, Bible studies, fishing, playing the guitar, golfing, gardening, competitive lawn mowing, traveling with his wife and spending time with family and friends. Born Oct. 2, 1961, in Pasadena, Texas, he was the son of the late Lillian (Barrett) and James Golden.
He is survived by his wife: Esther Golden of De Soto; a sister: Brooke (Dave) Baker; eight children: Jason (Michelle), Paula, Terri, Jamie, Jenny (Steve), Carrie (Jeff), James “Jim Bob” (Kellie) and Ashley (Adam); and many other family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at noon Saturday, Jan. 13, at Morse Mill Baptist Church, 6955 Hwy. B, in Dittmer. Burial will follow in Cowan Cemetery in Lowndes. Memorials may be made to the Morse Mill Baptist Church School Lunch Program. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
