James “Jimmy” Davis, 57, of Cedar Hill died July 30, 2026. Mr. Davis helped his family establish the Club Villa Magnolia in Cedar Hill, where he enjoyed hosting concerts, founded the Club Villa Magnolia sand volleyball league and supported the business throughout his life. He was a member of the IBEW Local 1 Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 25 years, working as a union electrician. He enjoyed the outdoors, playing darts, bingo, cards and dice games with friends, collecting baseball cards, attending concerts, listening to music and spending time with family and friends. Born Sept. 18, 1968, in Ferguson, he was the son of Kathleen Davis of Cedar Hill and the late James Emmett Davis.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter: Kayla Davis of St. Louis; a son: Alex Davis of House Springs; two brothers: Michael Davis of Columbia and Robert Davis of Cedar Hill; a sister: Suzanna Violet Davis of University City; four nieces and nephews: Pamela Davis, James Davis, Alyssa Davis and Violet Davis Dodd; and numerous other family members and friends.
A memorial visitation is scheduled from 3 p.m. until a memorial service at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A gathering will follow at Club Villa Magnolia, 8400 Villa Magnolia Road, in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation at parkinson.org. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
