James E. Marchbanks, 86, of Barnhart died Aug. 18, 2025, at Nazareth Living Center in St. Louis. Mr. Marchbanks was a member of the Carpenters' Union Local 76. Born Feb. 6, 1939, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Lula (Tate) and Fred Marchbanks.
He is survived by his spouse: Darlean (Emht) Marchbanks; four children: Timothy (Sherry) Marchbanks of Bonne Terre, Lisa (Dave) Sharp of Des Peres, David Marchbanks of Bourbon and Darrin (Jennifer) McCullough of Lansing, Mich.; a sibling: Virgil (the late Ruth Ann) Marchbanks of Arnold; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry, in St. Louis County. Burial will be in Parklawn Cemetery in St. Louis. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
