Carrow, Genevieve

Genevieve “Jenny” Carrow, 96, of Bloomsdale died Feb. 26, 2025, at Ste. Genevieve Care Center. Mrs. Carrow was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and St. Agnes Parish Choir. She enjoyed taking care of her garden and flowers, singing in the St. Agnes Choir, visiting flea markets, playing board games and cards, traveling, walking with her grandchildren to the creek and spending time with family, especially during the holidays. Born Nov. 2, 1928, in Bloomsdale, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Grass) and William Zerwig.

She was preceded in death by her husband and high school sweetheart: Edward Carrow.

She is survived by three daughters: Barbara (Tom) Tyson of St. Louis, Diane (Bruce) Witwer of Conway, Ark., and Gloria (Chris) Bauman of Pevely; three sons: David Carrow of Perryville, Dennis (Paula) Carrow of Ste. Genevieve and Wayne (Kate) Carrow of St. Louis; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by two daughters: Susan Roth and Linda Schmidt; four brothers: Leo Zerwig, Raymond Zerwig, Carl Zerwig and Andrew Zerwig; and three sisters: Johanna Harms, Frances Dallas and Katharine Zerwig.

Graveside services were held today, March 3, in St. Agnes Cemetery in Bloomsdale, officiated by the Rev. Ryan Weber. Memorials may be made to Masses or the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements were under the direction of Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.
