Hillsboro-area man charged with alleged domestic assault

Patrick Porter

Patrick Porter, 67, has been accused of attacking an alleged victim who he is in a relationship with and lives with at a home west of Hillsboro, according to court documents.

Porter on Jan. 2 was charged with first-degree domestic assault, a class B felony punishable by five to 15 years in prison. As of Monday, he was being held without bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court records show.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called Jan. 1 after Porter allegedly attacked the victim during an argument. He allegedly choked and threatened to kill the victim, according to the case’s probable-cause statement.

The alleged victim was able to get away from Porter, grab a knife to keep him away and call 911, the report said.
