Festus man arrested on drug charge

Nicholas Moehle

Nicholas Moehle, 36, of Festus was recently arrested after being charged for drug possession late last year. He was allegedly found with fentanyl and methamphetamine after Arnold Police found him hiding under deck stairs of a woman he was accused of harassing, according to court documents.

Moehle was arrested Jan. 5. As of Tuesday, Moehle was being held on a $12,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, according to jail records.

Moehle was charged Nov. 4, 2025, with possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony punishable by up to seven years in prison. He was on probation at the time after pleading guilty to a stalking charge in June 2025 and drug trafficking and possession of controlled substance charges in November 2024, court records show.

The November drug charge was filed after Moehle was arrested March 19, 2025, at an Arnold home. Moehle had allegedly been harassing a woman who lived at the home by calling her and sending her text messages, despite being told to stop contacting the woman or going to her house, according to the case’s probable-cause statement.

Arnold Police officers had been to the woman’s home several times to serve Moehle ex-parte paperwork to keep him from contacting the woman. When officers responded to the home in March, they found Moehle hiding under deck stairs behind the home and arrested him for allegedly trespassing, the report said.

When Moehle was searched, an officer allegedly found two used syringes and a container with a white powdery residue. In July 2025, the Missouri State Highway Patrol determined the residue was fentanyl and methamphetamine, according to the report.
