Hoefer, Edna

Edna E. (Walden) Hoefer, 85, of High Ridge died March 12, 2024, in St. Louis. Mrs. Hoefer worked 35 years for the postal service, ending her career as a postmaster. She was a member of the St. Martin UCC Women’s Fellowship. She was a member of the Bonacker-Heifer bowling team. She enjoyed St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball, dancing and spending time with family and friends. Born Sept. 5, 1938, in Forrest City, Ark., she was the daughter of the late James Alex and Oralou (Reeves) Walden.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert L. Hoefer.

She is survived by three children: Annette (Gene) Hollenbeck, Linda (Curt) Fowler and Karen (Edward) Tritschler; 11 grandchildren: Joshua (Lynn) Brook, Sarah (Lisa) Ramsey, Nathan (Alyssa) Brook, Amy Elise (Joshua) Raposa, Jacob Hoefer, Ben (Henry) Fowler, Matthew Fowler, Molly (Matthew) Fowler, Donovan (Sidnee) Tritschler, Kayleigh (Ethan) Tritschler and Ted Crigler; two nieces: Shelley (Dan) Langhofer and Cindi (Mike) Lembeck; 15 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

She also was preceded in death by two children: Mark and Garry Hoefer; a grandson: Samuel Hollenbeck; a sister: Mary Wilson; a sister-in-law: Carol Nahlik; a brother-in-law: Bob Nahlik; a nephew: Butch Nahlik; and aunt and uncle: Lorine and Ben Mueller.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Monday, March 18, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, at the mortuary. Burial will follow in St. Martin Cemetery in High Ridge. Memorials may be made to Camp Ne-O-Tez or a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
