Dorothy Lela Jean Nixon, 81, of Farmington died June 11, 2024, at her home. Mrs. Nixon enjoyed tending to her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren. Born July 12, 1942, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Gilmore and Lawrence Palmer.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Gene Nixon.
She is survived by a son: Steven Nixon of Farmington; a daughter: Stacy Boyer of Festus; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two sons: Randall Nixon Sr. and Raymond J. Nixon Sr.; two grandsons: Krischian Lee Nixon and Rocky Nixon; a great-granddaughter: Marissa Nixon; and a brother: Raymond Van-Rysel.
Services were held June 22 at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial was in Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Arrangements were under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
