Dennis Miller, 74, of Valle Lake died Nov. 7, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Missouri Army National Guard after serving with the 1035th Maintenance Co. He worked in several grocery stores, starting at Kroger and retiring as a safety training manager from Shop and Save. Born Sept. 30, 1951, in St. Charles, he was the son of the late Louise (Gillam) and Mathue "Matt" Miller.
He is survived by his wife: Paula (Hancock) Miller of Valle Lake; a daughter: Annie (Patrick) McManus of Concordia; a son: Jesse (Jessica) Miller of De Soto; five grandchildren: Brendan McManus, Samuel McManus, Jackson McManus, Lily Miller and Madalyne Petty; two sisters: Cindy (Ken) Slinger of De Soto and Beth (Barry) Yancey of De Soto; and a sister-in-law: Melinda Miller of Charleston.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Kevin Miller.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. until a funeral service at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Mark Ferrell. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. The funeral procession will leave Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 12. Memorials may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital or Camp Hope. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
