Debra Ann “Debbie” Avis, 56, of Pevely died April 18, 2025, at her home. Mrs. Avis was a proud stay-at-home “MeeMaw,” who was known for her green thumb and for being a cooking show enthusiast. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Born June 24, 1968, in Saint Clair, she was the daughter of the late Sandra Sue (Hale) Harmon and Earl Edward Brown.
She is survived by her husband: Clinton “Clint” Avis; two daughters: Raquel Avis of Festus and Racheal (Drew) Wolfe of Pevely; five siblings: Eddie Brown, Jason Brown, Justin Harmon, Danette Harmon and Shannon Harmon; three grandchildren: Lucas Wolfe, Olivia Wolfe and Vincent Hale; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son: Brian Johnson; and two siblings: Kevin Brown and Amanda Harmon.
Visitation is scheduled from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, April 25, at the funeral home, officiated by Chaplain Mark McMullin. Burial will be in Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
