David J. Glick, 53, of Fenton died July 14, 2024, at his home after a yearlong battle with glioblastoma. Mr. Glick lived in Jefferson County most of his life. He was a 1989 graduate of Northwest High School and a 1993 cum laude graduate of Southeast Missouri State University where he earned bachelor degrees in history and general studies. Education was very important to him and he earned his master of arts in library and informational science in 1996 from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He also earned a master of science in computer information systems from Southwest Missouri State University in 2005 and a bachelor of science in health information management from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 2013. In addition, he completed certificate programs in geographic information systems from the University of North Dakota and business intelligence for healthcare from Villanova University. He served as the systems and digital resources librarian at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Ark., and returned to his alma mater as head of systems and access services at Kent Library at Southeast Missouri State. For the past 10 years, he served veterans through his work at the VA St. Louis Health Care System, Veteran Integrated Service Network (VISN) 15 office located in Kansas City, the National Program Office of Caregiver Support and the Western States Network Consortium (WSNC) located in Vancouver, Wash. He provided data analytics services to assist VA executives in making strategic decisions to best serve veterans. He retired in April 2024 as a data developer/health systems specialist. Mr. Glick was an avid reader and liked to carry a book or smartphone for reading if he had five minutes to spare. Born Oct. 28, 1970, in St. Louis, he was the son of Elizabeth Wallach Glick of Crestwood and the late James E. Glick III.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 27 years: Anndee (Dillender) Glick of Fenton; a child: Hailey Glick of Fenton; a sibling: Brian Glick; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled for 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Park Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Greater St. Louis Area Council Boy Scouts of America, MidAmerica Transplant Services or The Fisher House Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
