Daniel “Dan” Long, 78, of Dittmer died Aug. 1, 2026. Mr. Long enjoyed hunting, trying his luck on scratch-off tickets and spending time with family, friends and his dog, Missy. Born July 16, 1948, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Joseph Byron and Mary (Brace) Long.
He is survived by three children: Kevin (Heather Moleski) Long, Cynthia (Nathan) Chappell and Rebecca Skaggs; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his ex-wife: Linda (Elfrank) Wright; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by two siblings: Joseph Long and Frances Schmale.
Memorials may be made to the Missouri Department of Conservation. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
