Charolette A. “Short” (Miller) Dollar, 95, of Festus died April 18, 2026, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Facility. Ms. Dollar worked as a dietary aide at Jefferson Memorial Hospital and retired in the early 2000’s after more than 20 years of service. She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, working word puzzles and watching the Game Show Network and The Young and the Restless. Born Aug. 20, 1930, in Plattin, she was the daughter of the late Everett Stanley “Peck” Miller and Nellie (Vaughn) Miller.
She is survived by a sister: Mary Janet (Horace) Rhoden of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; four children: James (Debra) Dollar of Bloomsdale, Carla Dollar Springman of Festus, Nancy Dollar of Festus and Lori (Terry) Fluegel of Hernando, Fla.; four grandchildren: Steve (Jeanne) Dollar of Perryville, Amie (Brian) Rich of Valencia, Calif., Heath Springman of Festus and Mindy (Thomas) Reed of Festus; 10 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Harold Miller; two sisters: Lola (the late Dave) Crosby and Loretta Sue Jackson; and a granddaughter: Natalie (Dollar) Koch.
A celebration of life will be held at noon Thursday, April 23, at Plattin United Methodist Church, 3805 Plattin Road, in Festus. Memorials may be made to Plattin United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
