Carolyn Lee Marler, 90, of Festus died March 15, 2024, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mrs. Marler was a homemaker and a preschool day care teacher. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Festus-Crystal City. Born March 7, 1934, in Bonne Terre, she was the daughter of the late Cora Ann (Rowe) and William A. Selzer.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years: Melvin Lester (Les) Marler.
She is survived by two children: William R. (Katherine) Marler of Springfield and Jeanne Marie (Andy Dennis) Marler Cathey of Festus; three grandchildren: Marissa (Joel) Marler Geyer of Republic, Will Marler of Tilburg of the Netherlands and Elizabeth (Drew) Fuemmeler of Lee's Summit; two great-grandchildren: Austin Mae Geyer of Republic and Boone Louis Geyer of Republic; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by three siblings: William Harold (Colleen) Selzer, Clyde Raymond (Margaret) Selzer and Wilma Mae (Elmo) Selzer Cleek; and a granddaughter: Leslie Marie Cathey.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Crystal City, officiated by the Rev. Kyle Castens. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church and Daycare/Preschool in Crystal City. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
