Eubanks, Billy 'Joe'

Billy “Joe” Eubanks, 92, of Pevely died Jan. 16, 2025, at his home. Mr. Eubanks was a member of the former Herculaneum Masonic Lodge 338. He was a retired welder for the St. Louis shipyards and later worked in maintenance for the Windsor School District. He was a member and maintenance man for the Calvary Assembly of God in Festus. Born Nov. 19, 1932, in Manila, Ark., he was the son of the late Mattie (Crowell) and John Paul Eubanks.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Lois (Crawford) Eubanks.

He is survived by a daughter: Donna (Bob) Carter of High Ridge; a son: Mark (Doris) Eubanks of Pevely; a brother: the Rev. Gary (Donnie) Eubanks of De Soto; a sister: Loreen (the late Dean) Sparkman of Manila, Ark.; eight grandchildren: Misty (Bryan) Mealing, Ryan Reece, Candace (Drew) McGregor, Cody Eubanks, Matthew Pyatt, Shane (Louise) Pyatt, Scott Pyatt and Katie (David Hogan) Eubanks; nine great-grandchildren: Nicholas Mealing, Jordan Mealing, Tyler Mealing, Payton Hogan, Gavin Pyatt, Aubrey Pyatt, Bentley Pyatt, Kadan Pyatt and Skylee Pyatt; and a great-great-grandchild due in May.

He also was preceded in death by a son: Joey Allen Eubanks; a sister: Velma Densmore; and four brothers: Willard Eubanks, Harlan (Lucille survives of Coloma, Mich.) Eubanks, and infants Paul Eubanks and Roy Eubanks.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 20, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Gary Eubanks. Burial will follow in Sandy Cemetery in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to Second Hand Heroes. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
