Anitta Michelle Judith Shannon, 10, of Pevely died Feb. 17, 2026, at Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur after a battle with Leukemia. Anitta was a fifth grade student at Pevely Elementary School. Born June 10, 2015, she was the daughter of Ashley Gosnell of Pevely.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her father: Michael Shannon; five siblings: Alexandria, Lucas, William, Nicholas and Adrianna Shannon; and grandparents: Larry Gosnell, Bonnie Harris, Cindy Shannon and George Shannon.
She was preceded in death by a sibling: Christopher Shannon.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 26345 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
