Alvin "Glen" Newkirk Sr., 85, of Barnhart died Aug. 23, 2024. Mr. Newkirk was a member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Missouri and Kansas. Born July 15, 1939, in Naylor, he was the son of the late Logan L. and Nellie L. (Barbre) Newkirk.
He is survived by his wife: Frances (Hartmann) Newkirk; three children: Alvin Glen Newkirk Jr., Sherry Lee (Phillip) Stevens and Robin Sue (Dennis) Coulson; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sibling: Anna Sue (Jesse Dwight) Pride; and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Heiligtag-Lang-Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Burial will be in Shepherd Hills Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Missouri and Kansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Funeral Home.
