Donald D. Patton, 73, of De Soto died Sept. 14, 2023, at his home. Mr. Patton was a retired maintenance supervisor for Jefferson College and a member of First Baptist Church in De Soto. He was a Vietnam War veteran of the U.S. Army. Born June 27, 1950, in Richwoods, he was the son of the late Esther (Hayes) and Ralph Patton.
He is survived by his wife: Robin (Wideman) Patton of De Soto; two children: Sarah (Donald) Yap of Pearland, Texas, and Crystal Yap of St. Louis; one grandchild: Benjamin Yap; many other family members and friends; and his dog: Queenie. He was preceded in death by two siblings: Edward Patton and Gloria Jean Linderer.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto. A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, Sept. 21, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Brad DeLaughter. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
