Bernhardt George “Ben” Biermann, 88, of Patton died Sept. 1, 2023, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis. Mr. Biermann served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a parts manager in the automotive industry. He was retired from Lou Fusz Dodge and was a member of St. Rosa of Lima Catholic Church in Silver Lake. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially playing cards and dominoes. He enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, doing yardwork and sitting on his porch watching hummingbirds. Born Aug. 21, 1935, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Anna K. (Stegmann) and Frank H. Biermann. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years: Carol (Gabris) Biermann, whom he married May 12, 1956, in St. Louis.
He is survived by two sons: Mike (Kim) Biermann and Ed (Robin) Biermann; two daughters: Debbie (Terry) Etter and PJ (Brad Matheney) Olsen; a brother: Sylvester (Judy) Biermann; a special friend: Barb Taul; nine grandchildren: Dawn (Michael), Josh (Jamie), Amanda (Brian), Dave (Lisa), Jake (Toni), Curt (Michelle), Heidi, Kurt and Trent; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother: Frank Biermann; a sister: Marie (Don) Sexauer; and a granddaughter: Kelly Nelson.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at Ford & Young Funeral Home, 110 S. West Street, in Perryville. Visitation will be held from 8-9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be follow at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 13370 Hwy. 32, in Silver Lake, officiated by the Rev. Joe Geders. Burial is in the St. Rosa of Lime Catholic Cemetery in Silver Lake. Memorials may be made to St. Louis University Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Ford & Young Funeral Home.
