Norma June Leon, 85, of Crystal City died May 5, 2022, at her home. Mrs. Leon graduated from De Soto High School in 1954. She worked for Gift Chest Jewelers in Festus and Crystal Auto Parts in Crystal City before joining her husband in business at L&S Auto Parts. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church for more than 60 years. After retirement, she traveled, spent time with her grandchildren and enjoyed the family lake house. Born Dec. 14, 1936, in De Soto, she was the daughter of the late Lucille (Sloan) and Jethro E. Coleman.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years: Stanley O. Leon; a son: Timothy C. (Sue) Leon of Shrewsbury; a daughter: Liz Ernst of Overland Park, Kan.; and seven grandchildren: Timothy (Kayla) Leon Jr., Grace, Sophie and Phoebe Leon and Hannah, Ellery and Caleb Ernst.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Alice (the late Mick) Micke, Faye Lake and Betty Bowen; and a son-in-law: Michael Ernst.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, May 9, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City, officiated by Father Matthew Cherubarambil. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Masses at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
